3 Ingredient Crispy Barbecue Chicken Wings

What is your favorite cut of BBQ meat? Pork? Beef? Chicken? For me it has to be any form of dark meat with a caramelized sweet sauce slathered on the skin. It is so simple, just 3 ingredients make some lip-smackin’ goodness that will quickly become a game-time or party-time favorite!!

We had a going away for a friend recently and when I asked what he liked, he asked for wings. I have actually never exclusively made wings and there were a hundred different ways for making them. Breaded, fried, baked, you name it. So being that I had no idea which was the best method, I went for a combination of all the good things I have heard about people making chicken wings.

We ate these Sunday night and in the morning I set the wings out on cooling racks set on baking pans so they could dry. By the afternoon when I was ready to bake them the skin was dry enough that I was able to pour melted butter all over them and begin baking to get that amazing fried taste without all the hassle!


After about an hour of baking, I took them out and painted them with BBQ sauce and put them back in to caramelize for another 30 minutes. I was so glad I made enough for there to be leftovers because Dan and I finished them off on the way home, teehee!

All you need is…..

As many wings as your heart desires (that’s a lot when referring to my own personal heart)

Melted butter (salted)

Bottle of barbecue sauce (whatever is your favorite)

Allow wings to sit uncovered for at least an hour, preferably 2 or more. Preheat over to 350° and melt the butter. Paint the butter or toss the wings in a ziplock with butter to coat thoroughly. Bake for 1hr, then brush/toss with BBQ sauce. Bake for another 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the wings. Be generous with the BBQ Sauce!!

    I like grilled seafood, chicken, and burgers. Me and my sister, made a grilled shrimp seasoned it and put it in foil. Then we added asparagus, onion, bell peppers, green, red, and yellow, mushrooms, and love. It turned out great and we also made grilled salmon. Cooking with family especially grilling is always fun to me.
