I make this on
weekends when I need a treat, on special occasions , ALL OF THE TIME.
It’s yummy, chocolaty, and tastes exactly like a soft-serve milkshake from any popular restaurant except for one thing…..it’s totally guilt free and the protein powder is sweetened with stevia and (for someone who normally hates stevia aftertaste) honestly does not have that nasty aftertaste.
Anyone who knows me knows that I can be a little cray cray when it comes to chocolate. I must have it. I NEED it!! Swipe some on your cheek and I’ll be like one of those chimpanzees and bite your face off,…..too soon? Sorry….here’s the recipe
Chocolate Protein “Milkshake” (Paleo)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 heaping scoop chocolate flavored protein powder (I use Dr. Axe’s Bone Broth Protein)
1 Tblsp cocoa powder
1 frozen banana (in the event that you don’t have one frozen, it’s still yummy with an unfrozen)
Blend all of these until well blended, but not too long (your blades can warm up the shake and thin it out, no good). Drink heaven.
By the way, my kids love this stuff. It’s kind of an expensive snack, but sometimes what i’ll do is add more almond milk and poor a little sample for Jean. Soon I’ll post some really tasty “ice cream” recipes that you need in your life if you are living without dairy or sugar.
